Corporate Citizenship

Sustainable development, social action and social responsibility are important to us, which is why we make future-oriented contributions and integrate the careful use of resources into our day-to-day work.

CREATING VALUE: GIVING SOMETHING BACK TO THE OPEN-SOURCE COMMUNITY

The Contribution Day was held for the first time in September 2022. On this day, employees worked intensively on specific projects to promote the open source community. publicplan has long been committed to the idea of open source – because ultimately, taxpayers benefit from public code in digital administration. In line with the principle of “public money, public code”, open source is an integral part of our corporate philosophy. You can find out exactly what is being done on Contribution Day in our blog article.

Busy: Our bee sponsorship

With our nature-loving initiative, we take great care to maintain a great bee sponsorship programme. The hard-working helpers are based in Düsseldorf Gerresheim and are intended to contribute to the preservation of the bee population, which plays a crucial role in our ecosystem.

Through our bee sponsorship, we not only support the pollination of plants, but also set an example for environmental protection. They are expertly supervised by beekeeper Jeremias.

EXCITING: SPECIAL INSIGHTS AT THE GIRLS’ DAY

On Girls’ Day, we open the doors of our Sky Office in Düsseldorf and at the same time to new horizons. We invite talented young people to join our #OpenSourceAstronauts in sharing their knowledge and passion for technology. Together we discover the vastness of the digital world and encourage girls to aspire to a career in STEM.

Sustainable: Leasing our technical work equipment

Since 2022, we have relied exclusively on leased devices for all of our laptops and smartphones, i.e. all mobile devices that publicplanner employees use on a daily basis. Sustainability is also becoming increasingly important in the way we use work equipment. The use of leased equipment is an environmentally friendly option, as it not only reduces our ecological footprint, but also promotes the efficient use of resources. At the same time, this gives us the opportunity to keep up to date with the latest technology without having to regularly purchase new equipment.

By specifically reducing paper consumption and implementing energy-efficient technologies, we focus on sustainable resource management in the office in order to conserve both paper and electricity. This is why we work almost paperless in our offices and ensure that all electronic devices are switched off after work.

Committed: Advent calendar for the Regenbogenland Hospice

Every year we look forward to the pre-Christmas period, which is especially special for us on the days when we buy and wrap presents for the Regenbogenland children’s hospice. We personally deliver the presents to the children’s hospice so that every child can open a little door in the run-up to Christmas.

Sporty: As a participant or as a sponsor

CHARITY RUNS

With the B2Run, the B2Fit and the Allgeier charity run RUN4UA, publicplanner:innen regularly supports charity runs. These events provide an opportunity to strengthen the team and at the same time promote a sense of community within our company. The commitment also creates a win-win situation in which both our employees and the supported organisations benefit equally. The corresponding blog post can be found here:

SPONSORSHIPS

3×3 Basketball: Our dedicated crew enthusiastically supported the 3×3 basketball tournament. Together, we ensure that the spirit of sport shines in our community and that participating talents can develop their full potential.

Football tournament: Even without getting involved in sport ourselves, we sponsored the Easter tournament for the U19 Champions Trophy and are delighted that we were able to support sporting activities among young people in the region.

Forward-looking: Further social projects and commitments are also planned for the future
